However it's best suiting for brand new joints, requires flux and is rather unforgiving to bad technique/joint prep. If you choose to braze (ex: sil phos) then you need nitrogen due to the higher heat involved. I just pull the internals out of it to avoid and chance of overheating. Takes all of 5 seconds and it ensures they never feel a drop of heat.

WebJun 7, 2013 · I've seen techs run pipe with out purging with nitrogen, they just leave the plugs in the last section of pipe and pressurize the line set with nitrogen until the plugs blow out the other end! They claim this removes all the carbon from inside the lines... I don't believe it for a sec .. Has anyone else ever heard of this practice???
