WebJul 5, 2009 · The Blackface amps I use are mainly for bigger outdoor gigs. 66 Princeton Reverb rigged with 6l6's and a High end GZ34 and a 66 Vibrolux Reverb with the early breakup 6l6's. I only have 2 that cop a "tweed" sound; the Way Huge Red Llama and Tech 21 Blonde. I use the Blonde as a clean base, so it's usually set to a blackface tone, but the tweed settings are very good. The Red Llama excels at that sound too. I'll have to do a shoot-out at some point to see which I like the best.
